Taiwan stocks tumbled 3.06 percent on Thursday, weighed down by cement and oil counters, as investors took fright at a warning from the Federal Reserve over the health of the US economy. The Taiwan dollar weakened 1.31 percent to T$30.343, the lowest intraday level since January 3. The main TAIEX index closed down 230.38 points at 7,305.50, after opening down 1.54 percent.
Financial shares shed 3.26 percent, while electronics shares were off 2.82 percent.
