Sindh Minister for Fisheries Zahid Ali Bhurgari who was also the president of PPP Hyderabad chapter has said that PPP government would utilise its all resources to help the rain victims and rehabilitate damaged infrastructure to facilitate the citizens.
This he said while talking the heirs of rain victims who lost their lives during torrential rains at DCO Camp office on Thursday. As many as heirs of six deceased were called by district administration to give them the compensation cheques of Rs 200,000 against each adult deceased and Rs 100,000 for minor.
During the cheques distribution ceremony Umrah daughter of deceased Murad Khaton received cheque of Rs 200,000 from Sindh Minister Zahid Ali Bhurgari, who also presented cheques each of Rs 200,000 to Qamarun-Nisa widow of deceased Abdul Aziz, Qurban son of deceased Mst Hajiani, Niaz Mohammad father of deceased Farzadi, Mst Moorji widow of deceased Wishram and the father of baby Rehana also received the cheque of Rs 100,000 from the Sindh Minister Zahid Ali Bhurgari.
Talking on the occasion the Sindh Minister said that though this little amount can not reverse the losses of lives but it can facilitate the heirs to meet out their difficulties of immediate nature. He said that Sindh Chief Minister has spared Rs 5 billion and we are expecting matching amount from federal government to meet out miseries of rain victims. In addition to that international communities have expressed their keen interest in participation of relief and rehabilitation activities in the response of appeal made by President Asif Ali Zardari. Bhurgari said that unfortunately PPP was facing big challenges each of fight against terrorism, political conspiracies of opponents and natural disasters since it came into being. However, PPP had meted out all challenges with successes with the support of poor people of this country.
Administrator Hyderabad Ahmed Bux Narejo while talking on the occasion said that as many as eleven persons have been died in rain related incidents in Hyderabad district out of which compensation to the heirs of six decease have been provided while compensation cases of other were in process. He said that due to these torrential rains as many as 31 union councils out of 52 have been affected where 1,081 villages and 4,651 houses have been damaged.
