The Lahore High Court (LHC) here on Wednesday dismissed a petition seeking postponement of exams for the posts of lecturers and relaxation in upper age limit for private candidates and observed that court would not interfere in government policy.
The petitioner Mst Mubeen Umar through her counsel Sohail Bhatti had pleaded that Punjab Public Service Commission invited applications for the posts of lecturers, while September 12 was the last date for submitting applications. She said upper age limit was restricted to 33 years for private candidates.
She pointed out that chairman PPSC announced September 23 for the written exams which, she said, is very injustice that only 10 days had been given to candidates to prepare for the exams. She applied for the post of English lecturer and her age has exceeded from 33 years. She said the posts had been announced after the gap of five years, therefore, relaxation in age limit should be granted. She said Justice Mansoor Ali Shah had recently nullified PPSC advertisement on the ground of not granting relaxation in upper age limit. She, therefore, prayed the court to postpone the exams and grant age relaxation to private candidates.
