Date for ST, FED returns extended

The Federal Board of Revenue has extended the date for filing of sales tax/federal excise returns upto September 26, 2011, for the tax period July and August 2011. In this connection, the FBR has issued instructions to all Chief Commissioners of LTUs and RTOs here on Tuesday.
According to the FBR instructions, in exercise of the powers conferred under section 74 of the Sales Tax Act, 1990 and section 43 of the Federal Excise Act, 2005, the Federal Board of Revenue has extended the date of filing of Sales Tax/Federal Excise Returns up to 26th September, 2011, for the tax period July & August 2011 for all registered persons, instructions added. The last date for payment of taxes has not been extended.
