CHICAGO: Spot basis bids for corn and soybeans held steady at most interior processors and elevators around the US Midwest on Thursday, grain dealers said.
River bids were mixed.
Country movement of both commodities was slow, with weakness in the futures market chilling selling interest on Thursday.
Cash prices were well below growers' targets for both corn and soybeans.
An Ohio dealer said that farmers were unlikely to book new deals unless they had immediate cash flow needs.
Although the basis was mostly flat around the interior, soybean bids rose by 5 cents per bushel at a Lafayette, Indiana, soy processing plant.
