Activity at Karachi and Qasim ports

The Karachi Port handled 124,325 tonnes of cargo including 96,466 tonnes of import cargo, 27,859 tonnes of export cargo and 4,683 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Saturday. The total import cargo of 96,466 tonnes comprised of 38,502 tonnes of containerised cargo; 14,712 tonnes of bulk cargo: 2,712 tonnes of DAP; 12,000 tonnes of coal and 43,252 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 27,859 tonnes comprised of 21,657 tonnes of containerised cargo; 171 tonnes of general cargo; 1,631 tonnes of cement and 4,400 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. Nine ships namely Seychelles Prelude, DL Diamond, Neelambari, Falda, Cosco Kawasaki, Al-Mirqab, YM Fuzhou, Agonistis and Fu Sheng Hai carrying four oil tankers, three container ships and two bulk cargo ships respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Ten vessels viz Kota Azam, APL Guangzhou, Hanjin Beijiang, YM Fuzhou, MSC Ayala, Golden Orchid, MT Lahore, Al Buhaira, Silva and Labro carrying five container ships, four oil tankers and bulk cargo ship respectively are currently at the berths. Three ships namely Kota Azam, Emirates Marina and MT Lahore with two container ships and oil tanker respectively are expected to sail on Saturday, while seven ships namely Salis, APL Guangzhou, Hanjin Beijiang, Pardis, Jin Yuan Men, Labro and Suleyman Pasli with four container ships, general cargo ship, bulk cargo ship and DAP ship are expected to sail on Sunday.
Four vessels viz Salis, Yong Jin, Billisborg and Atlantic Gemini with container ship, coal carrier, project cargo ship and molasses carrier respectively are due to arrive on Saturday, while eight vessels viz Bux Melody, OEL Trust, APL Brisbane, MOL Bravery, Hyundai Highness, Argent Gerbera, Liberty Pride and Nadeem carrying five container ships, ethanol ship, Vehicles carrier and sulphur carrier respectively are due to arrive on Sunday.

PORT QASIMA cargo volume of 87,343 tonnes, comprising 73,039 tonnes of import cargo and 14,304 tonnes of export cargo inclusive 2,893 loaded & empty containers (TEUs) was handled at the Port Qasim during last 24 hours on Saturday.
The total import cargo of 73,039 tonnes includes 34,021 tonnes of furnace oil; 950 tonnes of MEG; 6,100 tonnes of palm oil; 4,752 tonnes of paraxylene and 27,216 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 14,304 tonnes includes 5,505 tonnes of cement and 8,799 tonnes of containerised cargo. A container ship namely CV Glory sailed out to sea during last 24 hours, while two ships namely MT Karachi and MT Golden Ambrosia are expected to sail on Saturday morning.
A total number of seven vessels MV Alaska-II, MV Wales-II, CV MSC Magali, CV Glory, MT Anggraini, MT Karachi and MV Golden Ambrosia are currently occupying berths to load/offload cement, containers, palm oil, furnace oil, paraxylene and MEG respectively during last 24 hours. Ten ships namely Sea Lion, Th Symphony, Kassos, Bunga Angelica, Stolt Zulu, Al-Soor-II, Alexi-I, Tycon-II, Nordgas Orinda and Al Mirqab carrying furnace oil, palm oil, diesel oil, cement, ethylene and containers respectively are currently at the outer anchorage.
A total number of five vessels viz CV Al Mirqab, CV CMA CGM Puget, MT Al-Soor-II, MT Nordgas Orinda and MT Bunga Angelica carrying containers, diesel oil, ethylene and palm oil are expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, FOTCO Oil Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Saturday.
