Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen, Pakistan (MWM) has warned that the workers will hold long march to Peshawar, in case Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government fails to allow impounded food and logistic peace caravan within the next 24 hours to depart for Parachinar, Kurram Agency.
Speaking at a news conference here at Peshawar Press Club, MWM deputy general secretary, Mohamamd Amim Shaheed alleged that government is using delaying tactics in departure of peace relief caravan for stranded people of Parachinar. He informed that the about 35 vehicles caravan including 10 trucks of food and goods were impounded in the last four days in Peshawar. He criticised the administration for not allowing the caravan despite holding several meetings with relevant officials of all concerned departments.
He maintained that the government has stopped the caravan on the pretext of security concerns, but a convoy along with 500 people left for Kurram Agency one day ago. He informed that they again approached ministry of interior through which the ministry officials told them there is no security and clearance issue.
Amin Shaheedi said that there were some alternative motives behind the stoppage of their caravan. He accused that some influential people in Parachinar and bureaucrats are creating hurdles before their peace food and logistic caravan for the sack of commission and money. He asked the government to shun indifferent attitude and allow the caravan to extend relief and food assistance to people stranded for the last five years due to the prevailing situation in Parachinar, Kurram Agency.
"Our relief and goods assistance is for all sects of the region and will distribute beyond any religious affiliation and sects", he remarked. He said that they had adopted peaceful ways for resolution of the issue, but the government is least bothered to pay attention to their demand. "We are ready to face all challenges and reserve right to resort all options to assist helpless and hopeless people in Parachinar, Kurram agency, he maintained.
Amin Shaheedi said that those blocking the peace relief and goods assistance, are the enemies of the humanity. "We will raise the issue at international fora by holding protest demonstrations and rallies in front of Pakistan embassies across the world," he informed. He warned that if government fails to meet their demand within next 24 hours, they will resort all options and all responsibility will lay upon the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa any kind of consequences.
