A Qatari delegation headed by Sheikh Ali Bin Abdullah Bin Thani, member of Royal family of Qatar, called on President Asif Ali Zardari at the Aiwan-e-Sadr on Friday. The delegation included Sheikh Khalid Al-Thani, member of Ruling family, Ambassador Ahmed Ali Hanzab, Ambassador of Qatar in Islamabad Sayyar Abdul Rehman, Abdul Basit Al-Sheibi, CEO Qatar International Islamic Bank, Ayez Qahtani, and CEO Charity Programme RAF.
Pak side included M. Salman Faruqui, Secretary General to the President, Spokesperson to the President Farhatullah Babar and other senior officials. Pak-Qatar bilateral relations, mutual co-operation in economic, commercial investment and other areas of mutual interest were discussed during the meeting. Issues relating to Qatar International Islamic Bank and the projects being undertaken in Layyah and Dadu district by Qatari charity organisation RAF also came under discussion.
Sheikh Ali Bin Abdullah Bin Thani also appreciated the important role played by Pakistani community in Qatar. The delegation thanked the President for meeting and showed keen interest in exploring further the investment opportunities in the country.-PR
