A terror plan to poison the water supply services, water tanks and supply lines was unearthed by intelligence agencies and Interior Ministry has directed the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to ensure foolproof security of water supply installations to avoid any untoward incident.
The intelligence agencies have sent information to Interior Ministry stating that terrorists have planned to poison the water supply services of the Federal Capital including water tanks and supply lines, particularly the water supply of the defence installations, informed sources in Interior Ministry revealed to Business Recorder on Monday.
The security around the water reservoirs all over the Federal Capital has been enhanced in the wake of terror alert stating that terrorist have planned to poison the water reservoirs and supply lines of the Federal Capital, the sources said, adding that the security around the water supplies of defence installations, particularly close to Margalla Hills has been enhanced to secure them from any kind of risk.
They said that intelligence agencies have sent an alert to Interior Ministry that the terrorist have planned to poison the water reservoirs and supply line of the Federal Capital particular the water supply of the defence installations. After receiving the alert from intelligence agencies, the Interior Ministry has sent a letter to CDA seeking special security arrangements of the water supply lines and tanks where water is being stored for supply to capital and defence installations in the capital, sources said.
They said the CDA has quickly responded to the communication from Interior Ministry and has enhanced the security around the water supply services, tanks and supply lines of the defence installations close to the Margalla Hills. The CDA sources when contacted also confirmed that they have received a letter from Interior Ministry regarding the terror plot.
