The Lahore High Court dismissed a petition of General Manager of the Doctors Hospital, Zia-ul Hassan Bukhari, seeking exemption from personal appearance before the trial court in connection with death case of minor girl Aman-e-Malik. Zia through his counsel Ali Hassan Rizvi argued that being general manager he has to look after the affairs of the hospital, so he may be exempted from appearance before the trial court.
Complainant's counsel Muhammad Azhar Siddique argued that all accused in the case are deliberately avoiding process of law and due to their indifferent conduct charges have not yet been framed against all accused.
He pointed out that all citizens are equal before law and nobody is above the law. He said accused should be treated like ordinary citizen without any exemption. Zia, Dr Ghazanafar Ali Shah, Dr Javaid Asghar, Dr Tariq Rafique Khan, Dr Sandeep Kumar and others were facing a trial before judicial magistrate, Sahir Islam at Model Town courts on the charges of causing death to a minor girl at Doctors Hospital by administering a wrong injection to her. Dr Hafiz Sana Ullah, nurse Fahmida, Dr Javaid Asghar, Dr Mubeen Afzal, Dr Ghulam Yaseen and Mubashir are also booked in the case.
