Taiwan stocks fall

Taiwan stocks ended down 0.4 percent on Friday, pressured by TSMC which shed 1.75 percent after a broker downgrade and by plastics firms, offsetting a rise in transport shares. The main TAIEX index was down 34.45 points at 8,532.83, after opening flat.
Plastics and semiconductor counters were among the biggest decliners, slipping 1.98 percent and 1.43 percent respectively. Electronics were down 0.64 percent, with HTC off 2.75 percent. Banking shares dropped 0.23 percent. Transport shares rose 2 percent.
