Eminent human rights activists and patron-in-chief of Chhipa Welfare Association, Ramzan Chhipa has said that his name could be used, if and when required, during admissions in school, hospitals or elsewhere as name of father of the unwanted child. He said this on the occasion of World Father day, which is being observed on every third Sunday in June every year.
On the day, he visited families who have adopted unwanted children from CWA. Ramzan Chhipa was happy to see such children and he affectionately fondled them and prayed for their lives. He said that earlier people would kill the unwanted child, but since the CWA has started a campaign for owning them, the rate of casualties has considerably declined and the people now drop their unwanted child into the "Chhipa Palna" (The Chhipa's Cradle).
He said that the Chhipa Palna replaced the lap of the loving mother for the discarded child. Countless unwanted children have been saved and are being reared in a standard environment, under the patronage of those who have adopted them. The CWA is also in close contact with such families to watch over the progress and their attitude and the provisioning of the facilities required.
In a message, he repeated his appeal to the people who might have an unwanted child that they should not kill it but give it to the CWA. The CWA would take all responsibility and would make efforts to prepare such children for their vital role in the future for the country and humanity.
