National Accountability Chapter, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with the assistance of FIA immigration staff has arrested Naseem Malik, Managing Director Overseas Employment Promotional Liaison (OEPL) from Peshawar Airport after being extradited by Interpol Abu Dhabi.
The Nadeem Malik was charged for cheating a large number of students by luring them for studies aboard. NAB (KPK) on receipts of complaints initiated the case against him and his associates. However accused Naseem Malik never joined the investigation and fled to UAE.
On completion of investigation, NAB (KPK) filed a reference in February, 2010 against the accused and co-accused Ms Tasawar Saba amounting to Rs 5.370 million before the Accountability Court, Peshawar. Later, he was declared proclaimed offender. Subsequen-tly, a perpetual warrant of arrest of the accused was issued by the Court.
The NAB authorities had requested the Interpol for the arrest of the accused and accordingly Interpol issued the red notice. Finally Interpol Abu Dhabi located him and extradited him to Pakistan on June 19. After his arrival at Peshawar International Airport, NAB Team with the assistance of FIA Immigration Staff arrested him. He was later produced before the Court for physical remand. After hearing both the parties, Accountability Court Judge granted 13 days physical remand and handed him into NAB custody for further interrogation.
