A gang of kidnappers on Saturday kidnapped four cattle farmers in the limits of Surjani police station. According to police, these abductees namely Rasheed, Absar, Mureed and Zubair were intercepted at zero point Surjani town when they were travelling in a car (ACT-809) alongwith a livestock-loaded truck.
Police found the said car from the bushes of Northern Bypass while no case was registered till filing of this report. Police said the victims, Rasheed and Absar, were living in Bhains Colony while the rest of them residents of New Karachi. It is pertinent to mention that some 44 persons were kidnapped in a short span of two months. The law enforcement agencies, which appeared toothless to curb this illicit activity in the city, have decided to take serious measures after the kidnapping of three senior bankers, who were still paled by the abductors.
An investigating official, who did not want to be quoted, said the kidnappers were presently using different tactics to run this illegal activity, adding that they had deployed their informers in different areas like LEAs to hunt their targets. He said that the informers provided all information about the targets to the abductors, who then made a proper plan for the crime.
He explained that the recent kidnapping of the owner of Cattle farm from Gulshan-e-Maymar was made in a systematic manner where the kidnappers left the car of abductee at Northern Bypass and escaped along-with the victim in a cab, which was squad by four armed riders. He said the kidnappers transported the victims to other provinces and after the final settlement, brought them in the city. He added that the investigation units have recorded phone calls in the incidents mostly from Balochistan and Interior Sindh.
