Collection of tax on certain services by FBR: no notification yet as agreement awaited

Although, there is a strong likelihood that the federal government will continue to collect sales tax on certain services such as banking and insurance, construction, franchises and advertisement through FBR on behalf of the Sindh government in FY2011-12, an agreement to formalise and finalise this arrangement for the next fiscal is still awaited.
According to well-placed official sources, the provincial government will issue a notification only after federal and Sindh governments reach an agreement in this respect.
