Power shortfall has stayed at 4,000MW for the second consecutive day amid unparalleled rise in mercury during last 24 hours. Power generation was recorded at 14161MW against a demand of 18126MW, leaving the system with a shortfall of 3965MW. The power distribution companies had no option but to spread the gap both in urban and rural areas, witnessing long hours load shedding.
Power generation through hydel, thermal, IPPs and RPPs stood at 5325MW, 1874MW, 6862MW and 100MW respectively. Meanwhile, power supply to the KESC remained 680MW during the last 24 hours.
