Journalists community has demanded of the government a compensation package for heirs of martyred and injured journalists in recent bomb blast near Khyber Super Market.
The demand was made during a joint informal meeting of Khyber Union of Journalists and Peshawar Press Club here on Wednesday. Saiful Islam Saifi, president PPC, Arshad Aziz Malik, president (KhUj), executive body members were present on the occasion.
The meeting expressed regret over losses of 36 precious lives, including local journalist Asfandyar and damages of media offices in the cowardly attack.
The meeting demanded of the government to announce a compensation package for the journalist deceased family and to a newspaper office "Afratafri" over a huge damages. The government should extend maximum support to affected newspaper to restore its publication as soon as possible. The meeting also demanded of the media organisations to extend support their employees.
