SANTIAGO: Chile's economic activity rose 2.9 percent in October from the same month a year ago, in line with market expectations, as a rebound in the mining sector was balanced by a slowdown in construction, the central bank said on Tuesday.
The IMACEC economic activity index, encompassing about 90 percent of the economy tallied in gross domestic product figures, was in line with Reuters forecasts for 2.9 percent growth.
In comparison with September, economic activity increased a seasonally adjusted 1.3pc.
