Capital police launch drive to develop close relations with seminaries

Islamabad Police launched a campaign to develop close relations with religious seminaries in the Capital with a view to promote friendly policing for maintaining peace and order. A team of Islamabad Police headed by SSP Traffic Dr Moeen Masood visited Jamia Faridia here on Monday. Moeen Masood delivered lecture on the occasion to create awareness among the students regarding traffic rules and promote community policing.
He informed the students about the road safety measures and working of police department. The SSP answered several questions raised by the students, and said the basic purpose of the lecture is to create awareness about the rules and regulations and promote sense of responsibility among the students.
It is worth mentioning that Islamabad police is the pioneer force in the country, which has interacted with the religious seminaries with a view to promote relations and seek their support in maintaining peace. This campaign will cover a total of 305 religious institutions in the Capital and the police officials will visit seminaries to promote friendly policing in the city.
The SSP (Traffic) said that students of seminaries would be invited to visit various wings of Islamabad police and they would be given complete information about its functioning. Organiser of Jamia Faridia Maulana Abdul Aziz said that there are some traffic rules in Shariah as well and we educate the students to follow these rules. He appreciated the initiative of Islamabad police and hoped that it would help promote friendship. Later, the SSP distributed the prizes among the students who correctly answered the questions.
