PMEX index closes at 2,979 points

KARACHI: Pakistan Mercantile Exchange Limited's  commodity index on Monday closed at 2,979 points.

The total traded value of metals, energy and COTS/FX was recorded at Rs 3.402 billion and the number of lots traded was 8,152, said PMEX release on Tuesday.

Major business was contributed by gold amounting to Rs 1.750 billion, followed by currencies through COTS Rs 796.194 million, WTI crude oil Rs 400.122 million, platinum Rs 198.914 million, silver  Rs 123.412 million, copper Rs 89.448 million, DJIA Rs 21.566 million, natural gas Rs 15.028 million, Brent crude oil Rs 5.803 million.
