PMEX index closes at 2,989 points

KARACHI: Pakistan Mercantile Exchange Limited's commodity index on Thursday closed at 2,989 points.

The total traded value of metals, energy and COTS/FX was recorded at Rs 3.650 billion and the number of lots traded was 14,545.

Major business was contributed by WTI crude oil amounting to Rs 1.223 billion, followed by gold Rs 1.061 billion, currencies through COTS Rs 925.561 million, silver Rs 194.398 million, platinum Rs 173.783 million, copper Rs 55.550 million, Brent crude oil Rs 8.875 million and natural gas Rs 7.498 million.
