The National Vocational and Technical Education Commission (NVTEC) is playing instrumental role in producing skilled and trained work force in various trades, said Executive Director NVTEC, Muhammad Athar Tahir.
Talking to Business Recorder here on Saturday, he said that government had provided Rs 1.2 billion out of Rs 2.5 billion for different programme being carried out by NVTEC in various parts of the country.
The objective of these training programmes was to impart quality training to poor segment that are unable to get technical education and enabling them to start their business after completion of the training. He said that NVTEC was providing stipend amounting to Rs 2000 to each student during the training period.
He said that special attention was being paid on producing skilled work force according to market and industrial demand aimed at enabling the industrial sector to induct trained and skilled industrial force in their industrial units.
The induction of trained force in industrial sector would not only help increase the industrial output but also supportive in improving the quality of the products as well as to enhance the export of trained and skilled labour force to various countries, he added.
Muhammad Athar said the certificate programmes of NVTEC were being acknowledged and recognised in foreign countries. Muhammad Athar added that at present as many as 60 projects of different categories are being carried out besides PC-1 of 16 project were laying pending with NVTEC, adding work these PC-1 would be undertaken in near future.
