Makhdoom Amin Fahim has condemned the kidnapping of Sarfaraz Bugti and Jan Muhammad Bugti, sons of Mir Ghulam Qadir Bugti, allegedly by some intelligence agency, demanding inquiry into the incident as well as immediate recovery of the victims.
In a press statement, the Makhdoom said, Mir Ghulam Qadir Bugti, a PPP activist complained to him on Monday that Sarfaraz Ahmad Bugti and Jan Muhammad Bugti, his sons, who were candidates for provincial assembly seats had been kidnapped in village Bekr in Dera Bugti.
Sarfaraz was arrested last week when he reached his village to oversee preparations for the forthcoming elections and later jailed under maintenance of public order charges. As for Jan Muhammad Bugti, the latter was allegedly kidnapped by security agencies from the office of the Election Commission in Dera Bugti when he had gone there to file his nomination paper.
Earlier, Ghulam Qadir Bugti had been warned allegedly by snooping agencies to stay away from the area. His sons were kidnapped to prevent them from mobilising support in the coming elections, Amin Fahim stated in his statement issued to the press.
He also asked the CEC to intervene in the matter since, as he put it, 'the agencies had become active yet again to manipulate the results of the polls.' Meanwhile, Raja Pervez Ashraf has sent two letters to the Chief Election Commissioner, to bring to his notice that Ahmad Jan Kalper, a candidate from NA-265 (Dera Bugti) was kidnapped today, around 4:00 pm when he was on his way to file nomination papers in Dera Bugti.
