The Pakistan Academy of Letters (PAL) has announced Kamal-e-Fun Award for the year 2006. Prominent writer/scholar Jameeluddin Aali has been nominated for Kamal-e-Fun Award 2006, says a press release. Kamal-e-Fun Award is the highest literary award of literature for recognition of lifetime's achievement in the creative and research work.
The amount of this award is Rs 500,000. The PAL has also announced the National Literary Award for the year 2006 on the best literary books written during the year in Pakistani languages Urdu, Punjabi, Sindhi, Pashto, Balochi, Seraiki, Brahui and in English language.
According to the decision of the panel of judges for Urdu poetry 'Dr Allama Muhammad Iqbal Award' is given to Anwar Shaoor on his book "Me Raqsam," in Urdu Prose 'Baba-I-Urdu Molvi Abdul Haq Award is given to Dr Jameel Jalibi on his book "Tareekh-e-Adab-e-Urdu," in Punjabi 'Syed Waris Shah Award' is given to Nazeer Kahut on his book "Daryaburd,"in Sindhi 'Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai Award' is given to Zarab-e-Haider on his book "Zindagi Jo Safar: Toon Ain Man," in Pashto Khush'hall Khan Kahattak Award is given to Dr Muhammad Humayoon Huma on his book "Da Qand Handara: Pashto Adab Peh Taraki Da Qand Mujale Barkha," 'Mast Tawakli Award' is given to Muhammad Baig Begal on his book "Joker," in Seraiki 'Khwaja Ghulam Farid Award is given to Irshad Taunsvi on his book "Nadi Na Sanjok," in Brahui 'Taj Muhammad Tajal Award' is given to Zauq Brahui on his book "Kamal" and in English Pitras Bukhari Award is given to Moni Mohsin on her book "The End of Innocence." Rs 50,000 will be presented to each award winner.-PR
