Pakistan World Cup winning captain turned politician Imran Khan has been receiving a lot of bashing from social circles, after his alleged derogatory comments against the foreign players that participated in the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
Fellow cricketer Javed Miandad however has come out in support of his former teammate, saying that the phateechar, used by Khan, is a regular cricketing term.
Talking to a private news channel, Miandad said that the word phateechar originated from Karachi and are regular cricketing terms and every cricketer knows them.
The batting legend was of the view that the Imran Khan comments have been blown out of proportion and are no big deal.
Miandad however, criticized PSL Chairman Najam Sethi after he alleged that Kevin Pietersen, representing the Quetta Gladiators did not come to Pakistan because of Imran Khan statements, regarding security issues in Pakistan.
It is a huge allegation, and it needs to be highlighted especially after Pietersen has come out and clarified that it was his own decision and Imran Khan had nothing to do with it and it was his family issues, he said.
Kevin Pietersen along with other foreign players of Quetta, pulled out of PSL after Gladiators achieved one-run victory against Peshawar Zalmi in the first play-off.
