ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Thursday is presiding a session over the situation at the Line of Control.
According to details, a high-level meeting chaired by the premier reviewed the LoC situation in the backdrop of unprovoked Indian firing. Advisor to Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz, National Security Advisor Nasser Janjua and DG ISI General Rizwan Akhtar are attending the meeting.
During the meeting, the PM reiterated that the government will not back off from moral, diplomatic and political support of Kashmiris, saying that firing on innocent civilians is intolerable. He called upon the international community to take notice of Indian brutality and play role in the resolution of Kashmir dispute.
The Prime Minister said that Pakistan had exercised patience at the ceasefire violation by India. "However we will not tolerate the deliberate attack on innocent civilians," he said.
He said that the Kashmir issue was "unfinished agenda of the partition". "We will never stop supporting the freedom struggle of Kashmiris."
The Prime Minister was told that the Indian forces also targeted ambulances carrying the injured.
On Wednesday, at least nine civilians and three soldiers were martyred and several including women and children were injured as a result of unprovoked Indian shelling at the Line of Control (LoC).
