imageISLAMABAD: Minister of State for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Marriyum Aurangzeb Wednesday said Australia-Pakistan Parliamentarians Group must work more closely and learn from one another's experiences to further sustainable development goals set out by the United Nations.

Pakistan, she said, enjoyed cordial relations with Australia and would further like to enhance bilateral ties in the areas mutually beneficial for the people of both countries.

The minister was speaking at the reception hosted by Margaret Adamson, Australian High Commissioner to Pakistan, here in honour of the members of Australia-Pakistan Parliamentary Friendship Group.

She underscored the need to capitalize over the opportunities, which the Parliamentary Friendship Group was offering to its members such as exposure visits and learning from one another's experiences and best parliamentary practices.

She also proposed the formulation of sub-parliamentary groups to explore the avenues of cooperation, particularly in the fields of education, youth development, energy and capacity building of human resource.

The minister also appreciated the role of Australian High Commission for investing in professional development of the staff of the Parliament of Pakistan.

Margaret Adamson applauded the services of Marriyum Aurangzeb as the Convener of Australia -Pakistan Parliamentary Friendship Group and congratulated her on appointment as Minister of State for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage.

The minister expressed her confidence that exchanges between the parliamentary groups would contribute towards improvement of the life and quality of people of Pakistan.
