KARACHI: President Mamnoon Hussain, praising the services of Pakistan Rangers Sindh for the restoration of peace in Karachi, said maintaining law and order in the city is government's top priority as it guarantees national progress and stability.
The Director General of Pakistan Rangers Sindh, Maj-Gen Bilal Akbar, called on the President at the President's Camp Office here, according to a statement issued on Wednesday.
Maj-Gen Bilal Akbar briefed the President on the situation in the metropolis and about action against criminals.
President Mamnoon Hussain stressed that the action against criminals be carried out without any discrimination and it should be taken to its logical end.
The President expressed that indiscriminate drive against criminals would develop a sense of security among the people of Karachi.
President Mamnoon Hussain said that the nation is proud of the sacrifices by the law enforcement agencies' (LEAs) personnel for peace.
He emphasised that terrorism and lawlessness need to be eliminated for economic stability. He called for promoting coordination between the personnel of LEAs and the people for this purpose.
