KARACHI: Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE) 100 index closed higher on Wednesday having 42901.02 points with a positive change of 269.44 and volume of 144,494,640 shares.

High and Low were 42923.42 and 42582.41 respectively. Total volume traded in the market was 495,605,300 shares with 398 total traded companies out of which 212 were up 162 were down and 24 were unchanged.

COMMERCIAL BANKS was the top traded sector with total traded volume of 63,970,600 shares. It was followed by MISCELLANEOUS. with a total traded volume of 55,184,600 shares.

The three top traded companies were Pace (Pak) Ltd. with a volume of 53,683,000 and price per share of 12.61 (0.58), P.I.A.C.(A) with a volume 35,874,000 of price per share of 13.12 (0.40), Byco Petroleum with a volume 19,154,500 of price per share of 23.71 (0.59).

The top three advancers were Wyeth Pak Ltd with price per share 4760.56 (226.69), Sanofi-Aventis with price per share of 2010.43 (95.73) and Service Ind.Ltd share of 1407.00 (67.00).

The top three decliners were Philip Morris Pak.. with price per share of 2109.51 (-90.08), Unilever Foods with price per share of 5700.00 (-60.00) and Indus Motor CoXD share of 1515.36 (-28.64).
