Pakistan Machine Tool Factory (PMTF) is a precision and high-tech engineering goods manufacturing enterprise in Pakistan, established in technical collaboration with Messrs Oerlikon Buhrle & Co of Switzerland who are world's renowned manufacturers of Machine Tools. The Factory was inaugurated in November 1968.
More than 50 Swiss Experts while working in PMTF trained the local management and staff ie engineers and technicians for about 3 years and transferred technical know-how regarding manufacturing of sophisticated products. PMTF has been certified for ISO 9001 : 2000. Presently 85% business of PMTF comes from private sector which indicates their confidence.
The factory is a Unit of State Engineering Corporation working under Ministry of Industries and Production, Government of Pakistan, Islamabad and is engaged in Designing, Manufacturing, Assembly of Machine Tools, CNC Machines, Automotive transmission components of tractor and buses, Traction Gears for Railway, Marine Gear Box, Industrial Gears, Precision Gears, Pressure Die Cast items for Motorcycles & Cars, Special products for Armed & Civil Armed forces and Re-building of Machinery & Equipment.
PMTF has all major production facilities like; Conventional Machines, CNC Machining Centres & Turning Machines, Gear Manufacturing Machines, Well-equipped Tool Room with modern facilities like Jig Boring, Thread Grinding, Spark Erosion, Die Sinking & Copy Milling Machines, Most Modern Heat Treatment facilities in particular for Automotive Transmission components compatible with international standards, Surface Treatment, Pressure Die Casting, Sheet Metal facilities, Design Center having Computer Aided Designing & Manufacturing (CAD/CAM) facilities, CNC shop, Electronic Lab, Facility for Metallurgical & Chemical Laboratories.
