IT services centres: Sindh government in touch with foreign investors

In order to create employment opportunities for graduates, Sindh government is in constant contact with potential foreign investors for establishing information technology enabling services. This was stated by Provincial Minister for Information Technology, Mustafa Kamal on Tuesday while speaking as chief guest at the inaugural ceremony of a 200-seat call centre established at the Pakistan Institute of Management Technology.
He hinted that about 10 to 15 new call centres of 200 to 800 seats capacity would be established in the next few months in the province.
The Sindh government is striving to make Karachi 'Cyberachi' within two years by promoting information technology (IT) in the province, he added.
According to a spokesman of provincial IT ministry, the new call centre of 200 seats was a proof of provincial government performance. He said that Sindh IT Ministry wants to streamline IT on modern lines in the province, which would help in reducing unemployment.
The government would get rid of unemployment by promoting information technology, he added. Terming Pakistan, especially Sindh province as "ideal and profitable for investment in IT", he said that the provincial IT department would provide every possible facilities to investors.
