pipsWARSAW: Poland's gas pipeline operator granted 27 companies a total import capacity of 0.5 billion cubic metres of natural gas on the extended Polish-German link in Lasow, the operator Gaz System said on Friday.

In June Gaz System and its German counterpart Ontras VNG signed a cooperation deal aimed at increasing transport capacities at the interconnector to 1.5 bcm annually from 1 bcm.

Poland imports two thirds of its 14 bcm annual natural gas consumption from Russia and wants gas links with its other neighbours that would allow it to better diversify imports.
