gulsMULTAN: Intellectuals, journalists, poets and writers paid glowing tribute to noted columnist and writer from South Punjab Tufail Ibn-e-Gul on the eve of his 17th death anniversary here on Friday.

Tufail Ibn-e-Gul was one of the those literary personalities who gave new expression to column writing and fiction that always revolved around people, and their woes, said veteran journalist Jabbar Mufti while chairing a ceremony organized by Sukhanwar Forum as part of its fortnightly literary sitting at Multan Arts Council.

Naseer Ra'na and Sheikh Saleem Naz were the guests of honour.

Naseer Ra'na said that Tufail was a compassionate literary figure and his work was recognized and appreciated by readers.

Raziuddin Razi said that Tufail was a sensitive writer. Others who spoke on the occasion included Shakir Hussain Shakir, Waseem Mumtaz, Munir Rahi, Ammar Yassir Magsi, Luqman Nasir, Arshad Abbas Zaki and Sahil Naqvi.
