Turkish and Iraqi businessmen on Sunday signed a protocol setting the south-eastern Turkish city of Diyarbakir as the venue for a trade show which was supposed to take place in Baghdad but was postponed on security fears, the Anatolia news agency reported.
The protocol was inked by Omar Radd, the head of the Iraqi-American Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IACCI), and by Kutbettin Arzu, the head of the Diyarbakir Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the agency said.
Radd told a news conference that the fair would take place in Diyarbakir, the regional capital of Turkey's mainly Kurdish south-east, on May 25-27 with the participation of more than 200 companies.
The Destination Baghdad Expo fair was originally set to open in April, but IACCI later announced that it had postponed the much-anticipated event after reviewing the overall security situation with coalition officials.
