KARACHI: Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Memon on Monday has termed Mian Nawaz Sharif as “responsible for energy crisis” in Punjab and country as well, saying that Nawaz Sharif had stopped work on Thar Coal and other power projects during his second tenure of government.
This he said while addressing a press conference here at committee room of New-Sindh Secretariat. Minister for Katchi Abadies Dr Nadeem Bhutto, MPA Imdad Pitafi and others were accompanied with him on the occasion.
He said that Mian Brothers are alleging government for power crisis while, they know better that this is not our failure because we just passed little time in government and this is the basic responsibility rulers of past, he added.
He said that Shaheed Benazir Bhutto had started work on Thar Coal, Keti Bunder and other power projects but Nawaz Sharif had halted work on said projects when he had taken charge as Prime Minister.
He said that PPP’s government again started work on Thar Coal, construction of dual carriage way and airport is continue there, country will export electricity for 200 years from the Thar coal project, he added.
He said that Nawaz Sharif is doing politics on sensitive issues instead of helping out the government and the people, he tried to politicize the recent heavy rains in Sindh as well.
But, PPP-led Sindh government had foiled his conspiracy with taking war footing steps regarding the rescue and relief activities.
He claimed that 40 to 50 de-watering process has been completed in various rain-affected areas and rest of water would also be drained out very soon.
In a question, Information Minster said that Mian Brothers have not forgotten General Zia-ul-Haq yet and they are still accepting him as President of the country that’swhy they are not accepting Asif Ali Zardari as President.
He termed Mian Brothers as vision-less and said that they quitted from the country on foreign calls because they were under pressure in prison due to mosquito-biting.
Mr Memon said that Mian brothers should beg pardon from the nation for leaving country and the people for ten years.
He said that Mian brothers have digested billions of rupees loans and they were involved in money-laundering scandal, Ishaq Dar had recorded his statement against Nawaz Sharif in this regard, he added.
Sindh Minister for Information has also talked about bad-governance in Punjab and said that Shahbaz Sharif has Health, Revenue and other important portfolios but he has been proved as fail-administrator.
He said alleged that 13000 people have been kidnapped in Punjab in last one year, Salman Taseer’s son is still in the hands of unknown-kidnappers but Punjab-government is sleeping deeply in this regard, he added.
