ISLAMABAD: Federal Information Minister Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan said on Thursday that whenever the country faced challenges, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leadership initiated the consultation process with other political parties.
The leadership of all the political parties is attending the All Parties Conference (APC) and the government would evolve a mechanism in the national interest by consulting all the parties, she said.
Talking to PTV about the convening of the APC Dr Firdous said it was a good initiative of the present government to consult political leadership of the country.
She said that PPP leadership always tackled the problems in consultation with all the political parties and never took unilateral decisions.
The Information Minister said that the nation needs a national policy to overcome the challenges for ensuring stability, prosperity and peace in the region. This national policy is imperative to review the issues related to terrorism, economy and foreign relations, she added.
The main objective of the APC is to focus on the security challenges, the minister said and added it would help secure the national interests in the long run.
