Pakistan hopes Syria will be able to overcome current crisis
UNITED NATIONS: Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar on Tuesday hoped that Syria will be able to overcome the current crisis in line with its people's aspirations when she met her Syrian counterpart Walid Al-Moualem on the sidelines of the 66th Session of the UN General Assembly.
Officials said during a discussion on the Middle East situation, Khar also emphasized that peace and stability in Syria was crucial for the peace and stability of the whole region. She also reaffirmed Pakistan's strong and unwavering commitment to the sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity of Syria.
The two foreign ministers expressed satisfaction at the strong historical, cultural and religious ties between the two countries and expressed their firm resolve to further strengthen these relations.
