ISLAMABAD: President Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarian (PPPP) Asif Ali Zardari Tuesday welcomed the release of Ali Haider Gillani, son of former Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gillani.
The release of Ali Haider Gillani after three years of captivity is a most welcome news not only for Ali Haider Gillani and his family but also for the whole nation, Asif Zardari said in a statement issued by party secretariat.
"One can well imagine the torture of uncertainty inflicted on Ali Haider Gillani and his entire family ever since he was abducted on the eve of May 2013 elections and kept under detention for years," he added.
He said that Ali Haider Gillani and his entire family deserve to be commended for enduring this ordeal with great patience and commendable dignity.
Asif Zardari expressed the hope that despite this shattering experience Ali Haider Gillani and the family will remain unscathed emotionally and psychologically and that the young Ali Haider Gillani will soon re-group himself and move on in life.
He said all those who made efforts in securing his release deserve to be commended.
