Joint Chamber of Commerce to be set up in Occupied, AJK

peopleISLAMABAD: Former AJK Prime Minister Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry said that a joint Chamber of Commerce of Azad and Occupied Kashmir will be set up to enhance trade between traders of both sides of Kashmir.

"This will not only help improve economic conditions of Kashmiris but also provide a platform to increase people to people contact and intra Kashmiri dialogue," he made thee remarks while talking to a 45-member delegation led by President of Jammu and Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industries Zahoor Ahmed Bhat and Chairman of Kashmir Economic Alliance Haji Muhammad Yasin in a meeting held in Srinagar.

He said for this purpose, the condition for permit and entry should be relaxed to facilitate the traders, said a press release issued here on Saturday.

Sultan Mehmood informed the delegation that the Government of Azad jammu and Kashmir (AJK) had included Chamber of Commerce in its economic policies, adding, the joint policies devised by both the chambers would be implemented in letter and spirit.

He also invited the office-bearers of the Chamber and Kashmir Economic Alliance to visit Azad Kashmir.

Sultan Mehmood, who also held a meeting with Chief Minister of Occupied Kashmir Omar Abdullah, said the Chief Minister has agreed to the proposal.

He also informed the delegation that a beautiful building has been constructed at a piece of land provided by him in Mirpur, Azad Kashmir and started its economic activities.
