MUMBAI: Pakistan could raise edible oil imports to 2 million tonnes in 2012, up 3.6 percent from 2010, as floods have adversely affected the cottonseed crop, a senior official at a trade body said on Saturday.
Cottonseed oil supplies could fall by 5-10 percent to 500,000 tonnes in 2012 as recent floods in the country "reasonably affected the crop", A Rasheed Janmohammad, chairman of Pakistan Edible Oil Refiner's Association, said on the sidelines of the Globoil conference.
