Belgium 12-month treasury bills fall to record low at auction

BRUSSELS: Belgium sold 2.56 billion euros ($2.86 billion) of short-term debt at an auction of three- and twelve-month treasury bills on Tuesday, the debt agency said, with yields on the longer maturity falling to its lowest ever level.

Belgium, which has received rather than paid interest on its short-term borrowings for some 18-months, said yields on the three-month paper were steady from the last auction at minus 0.438 percent.

One-year paper, however, fell to a negative 0.455 percent from the negative 0.423 percent at the most recent auction of this maturity in February, its lowest level ever.
