KARACHI: The divisional and district administration Karachi has challaned 32 shopkeepers and fines of Rs. 104,000/- were imposed for violating officially approved price list.
According to a statement issued here on Thursday, during the crackdown, milk sellers, vegetables sellers,food items grocers, flour sellers, fruits sellers, meat vendors and chicken sellers were fined.
The action against profiteers were taken in the areas including Liaquat Abad, Gulberg, Nazimabad, North Nazimabad, New Karachi, Murad Memon Goth, Model Colony, Shah Faisal, Saddar, Aram Bagh, Civil Line, Garden, Jamshed Quarters, Gulzar Hijri, Orangi Town, Baldia Town and other areas.
Commissioner Karachi Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui has said that the operation against profiteers will continue till the sale of essential items is not ensured according to officially approved price list.
