ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif on Thursday designated Leila Khan, Member National Assembly (MNA) of the ruling PML-N as the Chairperson Prime Minister's Youth Programme (PMYP).
The position of the Chairperson PMYP fell vacant after the voluntary resignation of Mohtarma Maryam Nawaz Sharif in November this year.
Leila Khan has also worked as Advisor to the former Chairperson of the PMYP Mohtarma Mayram Nawaz Sharif since the inception of the programme.
Ms Leila Khan is a foreign graduate in Communication Studies and has been working with various financial institutions before becoming the Member of the National Assembly of Pakistan.
She is also the Central Chief Organizer of PML-N, Women Youth Wing.
She has been designated to oversight the PMYP purely on honorary basis and will not draw any salary or perks/privileges.
Leila Khan thanked the Prime Minister for reposing confidence in her and expressed her resolve to continue policies of previous chairperson for the effective execution of the programme.
