Administration jails 1 shopkeeper, fines 73 for profiteering

KARACHI: City administration jailed a retailer and fined other 73 of Rs 93,500 for violating officially approved price list alongwith other charges as hoarding and adulteration.

Commissioner Karachi, Shoaib Ahmad Siddiqui, Wednesday, sharing details of the ongoing crackdown against profiteers in the city said those fined included 50 milk sellers, 17 grocers, two green grocers, three fruit sellers and one chicken seller.

The areas raided during the exercise were Saddar, Gulshan e Iqbal, SITE area, Garden, Orangi Town, Landhi, Korangi and others.
