BERLIN: China has a "massive" interest in a stable euro, Chancellor Angela Merkel said on Tuesday during a joint press conference with Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao.
Merkel said she reassured her Chinese guest during talks in the German capital that her government was working to ensure the "solidarity and solidity" of the euro.
Merkel also welcomed last week's release of artist and activist Ai Weiwei, whose detention had drawn widespread criticism abroad.
