ISLAMABAD: Deputy Speaker National Assembly Faisal Karim Kundi would perform the functions of Speaker with immediate effect, as Speaker National Assembly Dr. Fehmida Mirza is performing the functions of the President of Pakistan, said a press release issued here on Tuesday.
The Deputy Speaker would act as Speaker under Article 49(2) of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
Since the President of Pakistan and Chairman Senate are out of country so the Speaker National Assembly will act as President till the President or Chairman Senate returns to country from their official visits abroad.
