Wattoo protests over change in polling staff
ISLAMABAD: Mian Manzoor Wattoo, Minister for Kashmir Affairs Friday strongly protested the overnight change in the staff at a polling station in Lahore and termed it conspiracy by Pakistan Muslim League (N) to rig the elections in Azad Kashmir.
In a statement, Wattoo said Pakistan Peoples Party and its allies had contacted the Chief Election Commissioner of AJK and lodged a strong protest over the change in polling staff.
He said the change was without any intimation and aimed at hampering the holding of a free, fair and transparent voting.
He demanded of the CEC that the removed staff be reinstated without any delay so as to foil any attempts of rigging by the PML(N).
He said the Ministry of Kashmir Affairs was committed to the holding of free, fair and transparent elections in AJk.
