Sharmila hails release of sailors of MV Suez
KARACHI: A former Adviser to Sindh Chief Minister, Ms. Sharmila Faruqui, has expressed joy over the safe return of the 22 merchant navy sailors of MV Suez who included Pakistanis, Indians, Egyptians and a Sri Lankan.
In a statement here on Friday she praised the role of President Asif Ali Zardari, Governor Sindh, Dr. Ishrat ul Ebad Khan, law enforcement agencies and Ansar Burney Trust.
Ms. Sharmila, who is also the Sindh Information Secretary of the Women's Wing of Pakistan Peoples party (PPP), further stated that this has enhanced the image of Pakistan in the comity of nations.
She requested the President that the Governor of Sindh should be conferred a civil award because of his contributions towards the release of the sailors from the hands of the Somali pirates.
Ms. Sharmila also lauded the role of President Asif Ali Zardari towards the release of the sailors that included the Indian, Egyptians and Sri Lankan.
She further pointed out that this has proved that the Pakistanis are a peace loving nation.
