PML-N doing politics of confrontation: Babar

Published Updated

babar_awanISLAMABAD: PPP leader Senator Babar Awan on Wednesday said the PML-N was doing the politics of confrontation and wanted conflict among state institutions.

Talking to newsmen here at the Parliament House, Babar Awan said the language being used by the leaders of Pakistan Muslim Leaque-Nawaz (PML-N) and its chief Nawaz Sharif against the state institutions would not benefit the country rather it would pit institutions with each other.

He said the national interests should be kept in mind while criticizing any institution. All the institutions were doing their job very well and making progress, he added.

He said measures were being taken to address the problems and miseries of people and to stabilize the institutions.

Awan said it was a part of PML-N's politics to criticize the institutions for taking political mileage. When Nawaz Sharif came into power in past he took negative steps against the then President, Army Chief and Chief Justice of Pakistan, he added.

He said the political attitude of Nawaz Sharif was very disappointing, but it was a good omen that the PML-N had not support of any political party in this regard.

He said the PPP believed in harmony and reconciliation and would continue struggling for the stability of institutions and prosperity of the nation and the country as well.

He said Nawaz Sharif and his party should use civilized language "which does not include decrees and threats".
