Interior minister holds meeting with acting DG Rangers

KARACHI: Interior Minister Rehman Malik held a meeting with acting Director General Rangers, Brig. Zafar at the Chief Minister House here on Sunday. He assured the DG Rangers that none of the facilities or privileges given to the personnel of the Rangers were being taken back.

"It is, however, our utmost endeavour that efforts should be made by the Rangers that they fulfill all the responsibilities with full dedication," he said. Malik said the government was aware that Rangers were working for maintaining law and order in the metropolis without any discrimination and offering helping hand to the Police Department.

He also appreciated the efforts of Pakistan Rangers to curb lawlessness and target killings in the economic hub of the country. On the occasion, he also directed the Acting DG Rangers to work out a plan to further improve the law and order situation in the province.
